We will work closely with the Leaders of our school providing support and constructive challenge

Nichola Magnum-Taylor : Chair of Governors

My name is Nichola Magnum-Taylor.  I am a qualified Probation Officer and have worked for the Probation Service since 1998.  Most recently my role has involved managing a team of Probation Officers that are responsible for servicing the Courts.  Alongside this job, I previously volunteered for the Youth Service.  Outside of work I have 2 children who keep me very busy.  I feel passionate about education and the opportunities it can provide and feel privileged to be serving as a Governor for Heathlands Primary Academy and Pre-School.  In this role I am dedicated to helping the school provide a happy learning environment that can achieve the best outcomes for all its pupils.

Riina Stoddart : Co-Opted Governor : Governor for Inclusion

I am a Co-opted Governor and the Governor for Inclusion.  I have been working in education since 2006 and I feel passionate about Heathlands Primary Academy and the community it represents.  I am committed to the development and the future of the school; making sure we provide the best possible environment, challenge and opportunity for our children to be successful.

Tracy Williamson : Co-opted Governor : Safeguarding Governor

My name is Tracy Williamson and have been a Governor since November 2017 - initially as a Parent Governor.  In April 2022 I became a Co-opted Governor.  I have been the Safeguarding Governor since September 2019.  I am a life-long local resident and enjoy being active in the community.  I attended Bournemouth School for Girls before embarking on a career in retail, which ultimately led me to running my own business. I currently work for West Howe Community Enterprises.  My daughter has attended Heathlands since 2016.  I knew that I wanted to support her learning journey, and the school, in any way I could. My hope is that I can make a positive contribution to the school by supporting and challenging the school leaders to ensure that the children achieve their full potential.

Declan Turner : Co-opted Governor : H & S Governor

Hi, my name is Declan Turner but most people call me Dec.  I am the Health & Safety Governor.  I joined the British Army when I was 16 and served in Germany and the UK including 3 tours in Northern Ireland in the 1970s.  I’m now retired but I spent 40 years in the computer industry, including running my own business and working in several local schools, both teaching ICT to primary age children and being Network Manager in both primary and secondary schools.  I’m proud to be serving as a Governor at Heathlands and hope to be able to assist in driving the school forward to a bright future.

Jeremy Stanyer : Co-opted Governor : Vice Chair

I am Jeremy Stanyer, I live in Poole but work in the New Forest. My job is managing investments and looking after pensions and savings for individuals, companies and charities.  I have done this for  most of my working life.  I have two school age children at schools in the local area having recently moved from the north of Scotland back to the warmer weather in Dorset.  I am committed to Heathlands Primary Academy and will do everything in my power to contribute to its development and place in the community.
